Stephanie was born and raised in sunny California. She explored possible career options by pursuing her interests. She took classes in a marine biology program at Sea World (Florida) watching sea turtles lay eggs on a preserved beach, kayaked with manatees, and watched a penguin be born. She finally found her true passion in life- helping and teaching others. She earned her Bachelor’s degree at California State University, Northridge in Deaf Studies. Stephanie is currently working on her Master’s degree in Education with a specialization in Curriculum and Instruction at the University of San Diego. She worked in the public school setting for five years establishing the first American Sign Language program at a local high school. She has experience working in the private and online school settings as well. Stephanie’s educational philology is based on a whole child philosophy to teaching and learning by developing differentiated instruction, social-emotional awareness, participatory learning, and life-long learners for all students. Since 2007, Stephanie has been embracing all types of learning differences and ability levels.
